The Flood of 1937

The Coolsisters had a GREAT weekend in Cincinnati just recently that included our cool brother. We spent a day visiting old favorites, including St. Rose's church located on the Ohio River. The markers on the left are in feet and those on the right show what year the river reached what height. Anybody who grew up near a big midwestern river knows about the flood of 1937 - the very worst (lots of great photos on Google). Having a hard time visualizing just how high the water got that year? The good folks at the church show it in this simple graphic. Look way at the top - the river crested at 80 feet. See more about St. Rose's church here.
